Foremark fishing report week ending 15/04/2012

125 rods caught 681 fish returning 487 fish for a rod average of 5.4.

Improved weather during the past week has helped to improve the fishing. The trout are still holding deep in the water with DI5 and DI7 lines taking the majority of the fish. Water levels continue to rise we are now close to being at full level. And the clarity is very clear.

Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers are working well along with Damsels.
Flamingo Bay, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, are the best areas for the bank anglers.
The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays all around the reservoir.

A good number of fish around 3 1/2lbs and 4 ½ also few Brown trout have been landed again this week along with yet another golden rainbow this week.

Best fish this week fell to Mr N. Hassel a nice 5lbs 8oz rainbow trout and Mr J. Wooffinden also boated a 5lbs 8oz rainbow trout.

111 rods caught 414 fish returning 227 fish for a rod average of 3.7.

Sun, Snow, Rain & Wind we had it all this past week, but on the better weather days we enjoyed some good sport and a couple of stunning fish caught, one an overwintered brown and another a stocked rainbow.

Not surprising therefore with the colder weather that a large number of trout were taken on DI5 & DI7 lines with boobies & blobs, however if you found a sheltered area out of the wind a floating line and buzzers still worked with the damsel fly working particularly well for a couple of rods.

For the bank anglers you need to find the sheltered bays and points along the Ticknall bank, while the boats have found good numbers of trout around bramble Bay and Gorse Bay and the Cascade Heron point and Bay, fishing about fifty yards out but fishing towards the bank.

A few Brown trout have been landed this week along with another golden rainbow.
As mentioned at the beginning of the report best fish this week was caught by Mr D. Sanderson 9lbs 4oz Brown trout, on a sinking line with a damsel from the far bank in Flamingo bay, with Mr B. Pakes also banked an 8Lbs rainbow on a gold Humungus.
