Foremark weekly report week ending 1st April

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

This week has been varied primarily because of the changing weather conditions, wind direction and water temperature which has been averaging 6 degrees centigrade. When the sun has broken through and generated some warmth buzzer fishing has been productive.

The bank fishing continues to yield the best results noting that the boat returns are increasing. The fish still seem to be located in Flamingo bay noting however some fish have moved to Bramble bay. From a boat aspect fish have been caught in the cascade.

Wednesday Messer’s Topping and Robinson landed 35 fish in a morning session. Mr Savage caught 18 from the bank fishing Flamingo bay and Mr Ward landed 9 fish on buzzers fished on a washing line. On Friday Messer Jed Donoghue landed 9 fish in a 4 hour session whilst fishing Flamingo bay with a Montana. Saturday was a very cold and bleak day following heavy rains overnight and hence the rod average for the day was 1 fish per rod. However, there was some notable catches on Boobies and yellow Damsels.

Sundays weather improved and Messer’s Wagstaff and Ryles both caught 11 fish on buzzers in Flamingo bay. Mr Reid caught 7 fish on Damsels from a boat from within the Flamingo bay area. The days average was 5.6 fish per rod.

Winner of this week’s free boat draw: Mr Neville Ryles of Longton

HELP!  Lift required to fishing waters

“Good Day to all you Fly-fishers,

I am sure many of you will know PAUL WALKER (a successful Foremark & Draycote angler)– if only by sight as you tote your bags to the water.   Despite being fit as a flea Paul is no longer able to drive.

It would be wonderful if someone could come to the rescue and help with transport.   I can deliver Paul to your home and pick up later – anywhere up to 10 miles from Breaston (DE723BH)

Paul has fished fly all his life and would be happy to share skills, all costs, and pleasures.

A regular or a one-off, Paul would have done the same for you.

Thank you.   Enid Walker
