Foremark weekly report week ending 30th October 2017

Foremark Lodge Tel 01283 703202

After last week’s bad weather in particular the high wind speeds we were optimistic that this report would offer some better news. However Monday came and of the 7 rods who braved the calmer but still boisterous conditions it showed because only 5 fish were caught. Tuesday was no better and it didn’t matter what was attempted and what areas that were fished. Mr Scudder located small shoals of fish with a fish finder noting they were 20 feet plus down. Wednesday was a better day for some with Mr K Hardy taking 4 from the bank on hut point and Scott Wilson boating 4 on a DI 5 line and a booby.

The fish stocking level is still high for Foremark compared to previous years and given the time of the year and hopefully the fish will start seeking food aggressively in the not too distant future. Thursday was yet another frustrating day with anglers reporting a number of taps etc but the fish unwilling to chase and those fish caught came mainly to static offerings. Friday offered a small amount of encouragement for bank anglers and there was a number of fish caught around Verduns point but still deep on sinking lines.

Foremark Fly Fishers charity match at Foremark in support of Fishing for Heroes SUNDAY the 29th of October was well supported with £306 being raised for this great cause The boat winners for the Graham Tagg Trophy was awarded to Martin Smith & Paul Cook who weighed in 5 fish for 8lb 7oz.
