Fry feeding along the lodge beach and boat pontoon has continuing yet again this week with trout still feeding well during the early part of the week. Excellent water clarity also continues.

Monday season permit holder Reid fished daddies and spiders from a boat to land four pristine trout from between the picnic area and the dam wall. While other anglers fished the banks with fry imitations.

Wednesday Tony and Ruth Kirk fished from the stones on the dam wall and took 6 trout between them on a mix of floating fry and boobies. Derby county angling club member fished from a boat around 3 and 4 buoys and netted 4 trout using a pink snake.

The lodge bank was back on form on Thursday as Mr Burton banked 8 fish on a mix of black buzzer and floating booby. Mr G Owen was out drifting in a boat and caught 11 from various areas from the tower to verdons point.

On Sunday, a charity match arranged Belinda Dawes of Foremark Fly fishers was held, it was a very cold and chilly day. 18 rods caught 24 fish for a rod average of 1.3. The results are as Follows:

1st prize of a Christmas hamper went to Scot Wilson

2rd prize bottles of Christmas cheer to C Shreeve

Joint third was S Owen and J Peck with more Christmas cheer

A bottle of port for the biggest fish of the day went to Chris Shreeve for a 3lbs 2oz rainbow.
