Foremark weekly report week ending 23/10/2016
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
Closing November 30th
The margins have been full of fry with the boat pontoon and adjoining banks holding them in good numbers. Early mornings have been the best time to get amongst those hungry fry feeding trout. Don’t be afraid to fish in the same areas as the cormorant’s and grebe and herons as these are helping to keep the fry shoals close together and the trout are feeding amongst the birds.
Monday was a good day from the banks with Mr Bateman landing 9 fish from various areas around flamingo bay and the boat pontoon, on daddy long legs and pheasant tail nymphs while Derby county angling club member Mr Barker also banked 7 trout including two fish at 4lbs.
Tuesday it was the boats that fished best with Mr O`Donnner catching five fish to 3lbs 8oz on Zulu pattern. Mr Smith and Mr Peck boat fished to the margins on Wednesday using minkie boobies and netted 10 trout between them. Mr R Miller took a total of 6 fish from the bank in an afternoon session on Friday.
Saturday the action was back on the boats using a mixture of dry fly and minkie Mr P Harding and his boat partner landed17 trout while Mr Wilkins and Mr Webb managed 7 trout during a morning session drifting in front of the pontoon.
Sunday number 3 and 4 buoy was producing fish for season permit holder Mr Wilson taking 11 trout.
With a good weather forecast & our last stocking of the season due were looking forward to a good last month of fishing.
