Fish are on the dries.
Tuesday the fish were taking claret popper hoppers with season permit holders J Graney and B Burton taking 11 fish to their boat, while season permit holder P Walker took 9 fish from the bank on a mix of buzzers and muddler.
Wednesday was a bumper day for Phill Harding and his boat partner taking 30 fish all on dry’s with long drifts from Hut point down towards the tower. Thursday it was the turn of Mr Kelly taking 7 fish on cat’s whisker pulled just under the surface. Regular Mr J Scrgg was back on Friday using daddies and boating 14 fish, while season permit holder Mr S Wison took 15 fish on a DI3 from around the cascade and Heron Bay.
On Saturday it was nice to see season permit holder Mr D Murphy return for the first time after his accident fishing with Mr Cotterill, between them they netted 21 fish using a black and silver humongous. Top rod on Sunday was Mr I Buckley netting 12 fish fishing dry’s.
North West Fly Fishers held a boat match on Sunday with 13 rods and catching 48 fish for a match average of 3.7. Top rod of the match was H. Janidn with a weight of 11lbs 7oz for his 6 fish bag. Mr Burgess caught the biggest fish of the match 3lbs 5oz.

We are now offering limited fly only pike fishing, one boat a day. All pike fishing must be PRE- BOOKED you must also have a suitable unhooking mat, the correct size landing net,long Forceps, all fly’s must be attached to a wire trace, All fly’s to be 4 inch or longer in length. All pike to be returned. NO BANK FISHING FOR PIKE.
Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card from the lodge, once you have purchased 10 of the same permit, your next visit of that permit option is FREE valid at all three fisheries, Thornton-Foremark-Draycote
A Reminder For Bank Anglers
From Monday 11th April 2016 we have negotiated with our landlord STW a trial period to the 31st November 2016 which allows us to bank fish along the first 400yds of the DAM WALL
Certain restriction will be in place for anglers fishing the Dam Wall, they must not disturb any of the stones facing the dam, lifejackets will need to be worn supplied if required at the lodge, access on & off the dam wall will be from one area (the pontoon / lodge end) which will be clearly marked
