Foremark weekly report week ending 12/06/2016
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
An interesting and slightly frustrating weeks fishing at Foremark due in the main to the weather and the newly hatched pin fry. The trout have been very visible and active chasing the pin fry and gorging themselves on it. However a well presented dry fly fished static has yielded some results others have had some success by fishing big lures on DI5 or 7 lines. The most successful dry fly’s this week have been klink hammer, black hoppers, bibio, and cdc emergers (F flys/shuttlecocks). The best lures have been snakes and larger boobies. The main fish holding areas have been Heron Bay, Bush bay Around the tower and long drifts across open water. Best bank area has been infront of the lodge and along the short section of the dam wall. Sunblest bay continues to produce some fish.
Fish of the week must go to Derby County angling club member Mr J Chilton for a bank caught 7lbs rainbow which was one of four fish on his afternoon session.
Recently we have had a few nice pike caught on fly so we are now offering limited fly only pike fishing, one boat a day. All pike fishing must be PRE- BOOKED you must also have a suitable unhooking mat, the correct size landing net, long Forceps, all fly’s must be attached to a wire trace, All fly’s to be 4 inch or longer in length. All pike to be returned. NO BANK FISHING FOR PIKE.
Water levels are now up and the water clarity is very clear, so if fishing from the banks look for deep water with a drop off close in. Time to look out for our usual fly hatch which normally happens this time of year so might be worth trying a dry fly or cdc buzzer again this week.
Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card from the lodge, once you have purchased 10 of the same permit, your next visit of that permit option is FREE valid at all three fisheries, Thornton-Foremark-Draycote
