Foremark weekly report week ending 29/05/2016

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

A steady weeks fishing over all although the last week has seen the fish targeting a variety of different flys as weather conditions have changed. The water clarity is still excellent hence the need to look for deep water close to the banks with areas of sharp drop offs producing the best catches from the banks. All the normal areas have again been best for the boats i.e. carvers arm, gorse bay, bramble and sun blest bay, however heron point and bush bay are also well worth a try.

Mr D hardy took 8 fish from the bank on Monday including a nice 6Lbs rainbow. Season permit holder Mr S Wilson took 15 fish from bush bay and sun blest bay on Tuesday. Sedge and May fly nymphs was the way to go on Thursday as Mr B Bateman banked 12 fish from around Bramble bay. On Friday the fish were either taking deep fished buzzers and lures down carvers arm or on the top in the calmer water by the dam wall  bibio hoppers and cdc emerges.

Recently we have had a few nice pike caught on fly so we are now offering limited fly only pike fishing, one boat a day. All pike fishing must be PRE- BOOKED you must also have a suitable unhooking mat, the correct size landing net, long Forceps, all fly’s must be attached to a wire trace,  All fly’s to be 4 inch or longer in length. All pike to be returned. NO BANK FISHING FOR PIKE.

Water levels are now up and the water clarity is very clear, so if fishing from the banks look for deep water with a drop off close in. Time to look out for our usual may fly hatch which normally happens down carvers arm and around Bramble bay. The Hawthorn flys are now starting to show as so might be worth trying a dry fly again this week.

Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card from the lodge, once you have purchased 10 of the same permit, your next visit of that permit option is FREE valid at all three fisheries, Thornton-Foremark-Draycote
