Foremark weekly report week ending 22/05/2016

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

With a rod average of 5.4 last week the good fishing continues again.

Buzzers have still been the most productive fly over the last week, fished slow and deep. Blue flash damsels, boobies have also worked well during the week. When the conditions have been right a dry hawthorn fly or bibio have also worked. We have had a good evening rise a couple of evenings this last week. The last four hour permit anglers have been able to enjoy some good sport on those evenings.

Best areas from the banks have been around flamingo bay verdons point and the sailing club pontoon. If boat fishing is your chose then heron point and heron bay have been holding lots of fish around the cascade and number 8 buoy.

Mr C Beard fish on the last four hour permit on Monday and took 12 fish to his boat. Tuesday Mr S savage banked 28 fish. On Wednesday Mr Taft and Mr Coley took 23 fish to their boat while on Thursday season permit holders Mr Burton and Mr Graney boated 29 fish between them on green and black Loynton guinnie. Friday saw season permit holder boat over 20 fish on blue flash damsel from heron bay. The best catch on Saturday was 20 plus fish for Mr I Buckley. Mr M sail banked 7 fish from around verdons point on Sunday during a morning session.

Recently we have had a few nice pike caught on fly so we are now offering limited fly only pike fishing, one boat a day. All pike fishing must be PRE- BOOKED you must also have a suitable unhooking mat, the correct size landing net, long Forceps, all fly’s must be attached to a wire trace,  All fly’s to be 4 inch or longer in leghth. all pike to be returned. NO BANK FISHING FOR PIKE.

Water levels are now up and the water clarity is very clear, so if fishing from the banks look for deep water with a drop off close in. Time to look out for our usual may fly hatch which normally happens down carvers arm and around Bramble bay. The Hawthorn flys are now starting to show as so might be worth trying a dry fly again this week.

Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card from the lodge, once you have purchased 10 of the same permit, your next visit of that permit option is FREE valid at all three fisheries, Thornton-Foremark-Draycote
