Foremark weekly report week ending 08/05/2016

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

With a rod average of 5.8 last week the good fishing continues again.

Fishing deep and slow was the way to go all week with lots of fish down Carvers arm along both banks and even a little further out, but deep. Some fish have been rising on the surface now and again but in general only for short periods. Verdons point and sailing club bay have also produced this week from the bank however the boats have out fished the banks over the week. Buzzers and boobies have been the main fly’s with orange blobs and fritz also worth a try. Season permit holder Mr Cotterill has had two visits this week taking a total of 57 fish all on buzzers from the bank. Between Tuesday and Sunday 10 anglers have reported catches over 20 plus fish in a session so congratulations to Mr  Heseltine, Mr M Law, Mr Simon Vorley, Mr Steve vorley, Mr  A Burandt, Mr K Noble, Mr D Williams, Mr Bristow, Mr J Woodward. Mr S Wilson.

Water levels are now up and the water clarity is very clear, so if fishing from the banks look for deep water with a drop off close in. Time to look out for our usual may fly hatch which normally happens down carvers arm and around Bramble bay. The Hawthorn flys are now starting to show as well, so might be worth trying a dry fly this week.

Don’t forget to pick up your loyalty card from the lodge, once you have purchased 10 of the same permit, your next visit of that permit option is FREE valid at all three fisheries, Thornton-Foremark-Draycote
