Foremark weekly report week ending 1st November 2015
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
Generally, another hard week at Foremark, with the weather not helping and we continue to experience falling water levels. This has made bank fishing in particular challenging and anglers are reminded to be extremely careful. Please avoid increasing areas of soft mud as well as steep, sandy drop offs, staff at the lodge will advise you on the best areas to fish.
The week saw 32 anglers fish in a mix of autumnal weather including heavy rain showers, gusty wind, warm bright afternoons and still foggy days. A real mix of flies have worked with anglers who have been prepared to move around and find feeding fish getting best results. I continue to get daily reports of lots of follows and plucks but a limited number of fish willing to attack the lures.
Whilst the traditional end of season fry bashing has not been anywhere near as prolific as in seasons past, some rods have done consistently well using fry based patterns, especially minkies, in both grey & white.
Whilst many anglers struggled, as always, there were a few leading the way with creditable results.
Mr J Scragg was amongst the fish on Monday using sinking lines and minkies boobies.
Tuesday season permit holder Mr K Hardy netted 4 fish from the bank between flamingo bay and hut point on a mix of bobbies and small lures. Thursday Mr S Wilson brought 7 fish to his boat on a DI7 line and a perch fry imitation from carvers arm. Mr Wilton during a last four hour session also had success but with a black daddies on a floating line.
