Foremark’s weekly report week ending 30/8/2015

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

The fishing has remained similar to last week with some good catches reported by a few anglers. With the trout  continuing to feed and move on or near the surface taking a variety of flys including dry’s and diawl batch along with flash damsels and surface presented boobies and muddler. Water levels are dropping giving plenty of room on the banks. Although the fishing from the banks is challenging some fish are being caught on dry’s and nymphs. Best areas for the boats have been along the Ticknall bank between 5 and 6 buoy and in open water around 4 buoy. Verdons point and Hut point have been the better areas from the banks.

Season permit holder Mr S Wilson took ten fish to his boat on Monday using diawl bach and flash damsel near 4 buoys. Thornton member Mk Coley and his boat partner Mr B Taft had 11 fish to 5bs 4oz on Tuesday. Season permit holder made two morning visits this week and landed 11 fish all on small black daddy long legs. Saturday Mr N Gregory took 8 fish to 4Lbs on daddies. On Sunday Mr J Woodward took 9 fish on CDcs around the cascade.

We will be holding the Graham Tagg memorial boat pairs match on Sunday the 20th of September and bookings have increased. Therefore if you wish to fish in this competition it is advisable you do so quickly by telephoning the Lodge to book a boat. ONLY  two BOATS LEFT

Good evening rises are still a frequent occurrence and therefore the last 4 hour permit is an opportunity not to be missed. (1 fish kill catch and release permit for only £10.00 and a boat for an additional £10.00)

With the dry fly’s starting to show now some amazing sport can be had. So clean off those floating lines and stock up on your fly floatant. For more up to date information call the lodge on 01283 703202
