Foremark’s weekly report week ending 23/8/2015
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
The fishing has started to improve over the last week with some good catches reported by a few anglers. The trout are continuing to feed and move on or near the surface taking a variety of flys including dry’s and diawl batch along with flash damsels and surface presented boobies and muddler. Water levels are dropping giving plenty of room on the banks. Although the fishing from the banks is challenging some fish are being caught on dry’s and nymphs. Best areas for the boats have been along the Ticknall bank between 5 and 6 buoy and in open water around 4 buoy. Verdons point and Hut point have been the better areas from the banks.
Derby County angling Club member fished on Thursday taking 12 fish to his boat on dry’s fished static, while on Friday Mr J Scragg was into some really good sport on red and green diawl bach taking 22 fish to his boat in a morning session. Season permit holders Mr Graney and Mr Burton netted 15 fish to the boat on both booby and a black and green Montana.
We will be holding the Graham Tagg memorial boat pairs match on Sunday the 20th of September and bookings have increased. Therefore if you wish to fish in this competition it is advisable you do so quickly by telephoning the Lodge to book a boat. ONLY A FEW BOATS LEFT
Good evening rises are a frequent occurrence and therefore the last 4 hour permit is an opportunity not to be missed. (1 fish kill catch and release permit for only £10.00 and a boat for an additional £10.00)
With the dry fly’s starting to show now some amazing sport can be had. So clean off those floating lines and stock up on your fly floatant. For more up to date information call the lodge on 01283 703202
