Foremark’s weekly report week ending 05/07/15
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
The bright and hot weather over the last week has been very nice but the trout have not found it so as the water temperature has started to rise the trout have headed deeper in search of cooler water. This said at the start of the week we had fish showing all over, but getting them to take on a regular basis was somewhat of a challenge. Water levels are at a nice level for the banks giving plenty of room, look for the deeper water and drop-offs around carvers arm and sunblest and bramble bays.
However on Monday Mr B Nadin and his boat partner netted 20 fish between them on dry black/peacock and mayfly taking fish to 4lbs8oz.
Wednesday was the police inter force match this was a floating line only boat match. 24 rods caught 60 fish for a match rod average of 2.5. This was fished on the hottest day of the year and all credit goes to all the anglers for fishing so well in such conditions.
The winning team was west Midlands police with 27 fish, runners up Staffordshire police with 16 fish and the individual winner was Steve Owen with a total of 12 fish.
Season permit holder Mr S Wilson was back amongst the fish on Friday up around number 4 buoy and fishing a sweep line.
When the conditions are right we are getting some good evening rises, so take the opportunity of our last 4 hour permits. ( 1 fish kill catch and release permit for only £10.00)
With the dry fly’s starting to show now some amazing sport can be had. So clean off those floating lines and stock up on your fly floatant. For more up to date information call the lodge on 01283 703202
