Foremark’s weekly report week ending 08/06/15
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
The wind still remains the main story again this week with a strong East north east blowing from Monday through to Saturday, this has again determined were to fish. The most productive areas from the boats have been the small bay near the lodge on the dam wall, between the tower and the dam wall and down carvers arm and around verdons point. Best bank areas have been verdons point and sun bless bay.
Monday fished well on dries and damsel, orange fritz and damsel on Tuesday. Dries and nymphs worked best on Wednesday then back to orange lures on Thursday and Friday and back on small nymphs for Saturday bloodworm apps and diawl bach for Sunday but as I write this the wind has dropped and the bank anglers are catching on hoppers of the top.
Erwood fly fishers fished a 7 boat match on Sunday when the fishing was a little challenging and had a rod average of 1.1 with the winner Mr. Ray billings taking his 4 fish limit for 8lbs 9oz. Best fish of the day went to Mr. G Booth with a rainbow of 3lbs.
With the dry fly’s starting to show now some amazing sport can be had. So clean off those floating lines and stock up on your fly floatant. For more up to date information call the lodge on 01283 703202
