Foremark’s weekly report week ending 17/05/15
Telephone Number: 01283 703202
The main topic of the week has been high wind speeds and wind direction leading to an unsettled week of weather however on some days the weather has been favourable and the fish have been willing.
The week started with most boats doing well with fish in open water down carvers arm and around number six buoy. On buzzers and lures producing the fish. Tuesday was a little more challenging that said Mr M Gatley and his boat partner Mr G Michell netted 16 fish between them on a variety of lures .Wednesday and Thursday the wind played its part with no boats out all day.
What a difference a day makes by Friday the fish were on the move and on the feed with the bank and boat fishing well Mr D Hussey boated 15 fish including a nice 5lbs rainbow on a floating line and daddy longlegs. Season permit holder Mr S Wilson boated over twenty fish on diawl batch and damsels on a midge tip line. On the bank season permit rod Mr. K Hardy banked 6 fish on buzzer and diawl bach.
Coppenhall Fly Fishers moved their boat match from Draycote to Foremark and had a match average of 13.5 Mr I Bukley won the match with12lbs 1oz for four fish.
Sunday Horwich and District fly fishers also held their annul boat match the winning plaudits went to Mr P Hoaloy with 20lbs 10oz for his eight fish this also included the biggest fish of the match 4lbs 4oz rainbow.
With the hawthorn fly’s first hatches now happening some amazing sport can be had. So clean off those floating lines and stock up on your fly floatant. For more up to date information call the lodge on 01283 703202
