Foremark week ending report 14/10/13

108 Rods netted 227 trout returning 94 for a rod average of 2.1

The fishing last week has remained reasonably stable. How- ever with the return of wet and windy weather the fish have mainly been in the main in the upper layers of the water Colum. The trout are now starting to switch to slightly larger food items and have started to take fry patterns more readily  The boats have continued to find fish about 50 yards from the banks in carvers arm and around the cascade and are also showing in open water. The banks have remained a bit of a challenge again however some anglers are still getting some fish on either intermediate lines with cormorants and minkies on intermediate and slow sinking lines with long leaders.  Floating lines and dry’s (hoppers or daddies) are also still taking the odd fish..

North West Fly fishers boat match was held on Sunday14th Oct

First place was Mr Burgess with 6 fish for 15lbs 15oz, second was Mr A Cartwright with 3 fish for 9lbs 9oz, third was Mr Cooper with 3 fish for 8lbs 14oz, Biggest fish was Mr Keable 4Lbs 10oz
