Fishing report week ending 21/10/2012

112 rods caught 387 trout, returning 228 fish for a rod average of 3.4

Good fishing continued this week with the boats doing well along the dam wall and  down the center of Carvers arm, and drifts above and below the cascade. Wet again DI 3 and DI 5 lines remain the preferred chose, fished with cat’s whisker and minkie boobies still are the favored fly chose. Some fish are now slowly moving towards the banks but not in large numbers as yet. The water clarity is still excellent and the water level has dropped a little more again this week, giving even better bank access. Some reports are starting to come in of some fry bashing and chasing around the car park bays off the Ticknall bank and around sunblest bay.

North West Fly Fishers held their annual Foremark match on Sunday with a stunning rod average of 6.5. Mr N Stockdale was the winner on the day with 15lbs 2.5oz for his 6 fish bag limit.                                                                                                                                                           Doremill fly fishers also had their match on Saturday with a rod average of 3.4
