123 rods caught 524 trout, returning 306 fish for a rod average of 4.2
Good fishing this week with good numbers of fish coming to the boats down the centre of Carvers arm, and drifts above and below the cascade. DI 3 and DI 5 lines doing best fished with cat’s whisker and minkie boobies. Some fish are now slowly moving towards the banks but not in large numbers as yet. The shallows of Flamingo bay saw a good number of fish showing on Sunday but still were a little reluctant to take dry’s. The water clarity is still excellent and the water level has dropped a little more this week, giving better bank access.
Alex Booth Fly Fishers held a singles boat match on Sunday for a match average of 5.0
Mr I. Footman was the winner with his 6 fish limit for 13lbs 9oz, mr m Harrison was second with 12lbs 13oz closely followed by Mr G Edwards with 12lbs 12oz for third place. The biggest fish of the match was a 3Lbs 4oz rainbow caught by Mr B Street. On Friday Mr M Diamond netted a nice 8Lbs rainbow (well done).
