73 rods caught 282 trout, returning 147 fish for a rod average of 3.8
The fishing this week has improved slowly throughout the week the fish have once again been very mobile moving up and down the water column during the day. With a predominantly west wind the fish are moving along the Ticknall bank from the Gorse bushes up to the car park area and around the boils. The water clarity still remains good and the water level is slowly dropping allowing a little more room for the bank.
Best tactics have been, White and green lures (cats whiskers) booby’s, orange blobs patterns fished on sinking and intermediate lines and cdcs,F.A.B blobs and hoppers on a floating line during the times when the trout are in the top layers.
Best catches this week go to season ticket holder S.Willson for 21 fish to his boat on hoppers and F.A.Bs down carvers arm. Mr Nadin and Mr Brown netting 17 fish on dry bibio’s and C.D.Cs.
Again the banks have remained a challenge this week with the some fish moving in around flamingo bay and further out, by Verdons point and hut point.
