Foremark weekly fishing report week ending 21/09/12
125 rods caught 435 trout, returning 248 fish for a rod average of 3.4
The fishing this week has improved again throughout the week the fish have once again been very mobile moving up and down the water column during the day. With a predominantly west wind the fish are moving along the Ticknall bank from the Gorse bushes up to the car park area. The boils have also been on this week and are holding fish in large numbers and have been hitting fly’s hard all week The water clarity still remains good and the water level is continuing to drop slowly allowing a little more room for the bank.Best tactics have been, White and green lures (cats whiskers) booby’s, orange blobs patterns fished on sinking and intermediate lines and muddlers and hoppers on a floating line during the times when the trout are in the top layers.
Again the banks have remained a challenge but one or two rods have found some good sport of hut point.
Schnider Held their annual corporate event here at Foremark on Thursday and despite the continuous wind and rain they recorded the best days sport for the event in recent years with a rod average of 5.1
John Archer and Chris Pratt have both had rainbows over 5lbs this week from around the boils on lures and booby’s
