Foremark weekly update week ending 09/09/2012
162 rods caught 31 trout, returning 98 fish for a rod average of 0.6
The fishing this week has been a challenge with some days being very bright. The fishing has again no set pattern with the fish well down within the water column mainly between 20 to 30 feet. Fish are reported to be in the middle of Carvers arm and around the car park area 60 or so yards out from the Ticknall bank. The water clarity still remains very good as is the water level.
Best tactics have been, White and green lures (cats whiskers) booby’s, orange blobs patterns fished on sinking and intermediate lines. Mid morning have seen the best times.
Again the banks have been a challenge this week with the odd fish moving a further out, but Verdons point and hut point are the best options.
Foremark fly fishers held a club match this week .Guy Hilliard coming 1st and his boat partner Ric Saccone gaining second, Guy also took the biggest fish at 2lbs 15oz.
So far this week Monday & Tuesday overcast cooler weather has certainly helped the fishing with the rod average already starting to improve with the average on Monday 1.8 & a few fish starting to move on the surface once again.
The Graham Tagg memorial pair’s boat match will be held on Sunday 16th of September.
