Foremark fishing report week ending 02.09.2012
Another big fish for Foremark this week with season permit holder D. Murphy fishing from a boat around the tower with a Humungus fly catching a rainbow of 9lb3oz
115 rods caught 217 trout, returning 134 fish for a rod average of 1.8
The fishing this week has been mixed with some days producing well and other days being challenging. The fishing has no set pattern with the fish moving up and down within the water column. When the fish have been in the upper layers of the water column during the cloudier parts of the day. Dry’s( mainly small and black),along with cdc’s and shipmans buzzers have worked best. Humongous have worked on floating and intermediate lines, producing the best fish of the week a 9lbs 3oz rainbow. The sailing club and Flamingo bay are holding a lot of fish as is the middle of Carvers arm and around the tower. The water clarity still remains good as is the water level.
Best tactics have been, damsel, humongous and orange blobs patterns fished on intermediate lines during the early part of the day and floating lines with cdc’s and dries.
Again the banks have been a bit more of a challenge this week with fish moving a little further out, but Verdons point and Flamingo bay are the best options.
We must mention Mr D Howald and boat partner for netting 25 fish to the boat with fish up to 4lb.
