Yet another mixed week at Foremark with the weather being the controlling factor.
170 rods on the water during the week caught a total of 498 fis of which 273 were returned for a rod average 2.9.
Water clarity has dropped with the influx of a lot of water but still remains reasonable at around 6-8ft. As you would expect the reservoir is full and the aerators have been on for just over the week.
Unlike previous seasons the fish have not moved into the aerator area in any large numbers due to the unseasonable weather keeping the water temperature down, this has ensured our bank fishing is better than we would expect for what is the height of summer.
On Tuesday Mr Perry banked a rainbow of 5lb followed by Mr N Collins with a 4lb rainbow, Phil Harding landed a 4-10oz fish on Thursday and Scott Wilson landed a creditable 14 fish to 3lb , Ricky Cotterell had a 4lb 4oz fish on Saturday, part of an 8 fish bag. Wednesday was the special day with no less than 7 anglers catching fish over 3lb topped off by Mr J Severn with a fish of just over 4lb. At long last buzzers top the fly of choice list and have caught a great number of fish this week but the damsel pattern is still accounting for a good number. Dry fly fishing is still a little tough but several anglers have had some late evening success this week Dave Evans and Barry More had 14 between them on Wednesday and had finished for 4-00pm. All things considered not a bad week but with the forecast still showing a mixed week pick and choose your times and you will be rewarded.
