A mixed weeks fishing last week with 148 rods catching 559 trout, returning 318 fish for a rod average of 3.7.
The weather this week has continued to help cool down the water temperature in the upper layers. Fish are still moving along the arm and in the bays down carvers arm. The banks are also still picking up fish between Hut point and Bramble bay with some showing in Flamingo bay. The best fishing methods continues to be with a DI5 and intermediate lines although during the warmer parts of the day a floating lines and buzzers have continued to take a number of fish during the warmer periods of the day.
The Water levels continue to remain about 2’ from full level. And the clarity is now extremely good.
Best patterns: Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers, cats whisker.
Hut point, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, and along Carvers arm are the best areas for the bank anglers. The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays and 50 yards out along Carvers arm.
Police Sport UK held their boat match (Foremark heat) this week with 8 competitors from Cheshire and Manchester forces. The winner on the day was Mr Mike Cooper with a winning weight of 14Lbs 9oz, second was MR Chris Webster with 14Lbs 1oz closely followed by Mr Ian Wood for third place with 14Lbs. For a rod average of 4.5.
