Foremark fishing report week ending 13/05/2012

Posted by & filed under Reports.

Another excellent weeks fishing at this Derbyshire venue with 168 rods catching 1295 trout, returning 945 fish for a rod average of 7.7, excellent fishing by any standard.

The slightly warmer weather this week has continued to dictate the fishing. The trout are still working the margins around the bays and down along carvers arm.

The best fishing methods continues to be with a DI5 and intermediate lines although during the warmer parts of the day a floating lines and buzzers have also taken a number of fish. On the warmer days last week the Hawthorn fly was about in abundance and when blown onto the water a dry hawthorn or black hopper patterns provided fantastic sport.

The Water levels remains about 3’ from full level. And the clarity is very clear.

Best patterns: Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers, damsels, tadpoles, cats whisker and dries.

Verdon’s point, Hut point, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, and along Carvers arm are the best areas for the bank anglers. The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays and along the dam wall.

Mr D Jesson visited Foremark for the first time last week having travelled all the way from Wrexham and is sure to return having enjoyed his days boat fishing. Having taken his 6 fish limit he then went on to land another 4 trout, his boat partner Mr Tattum also landed his 6 fish limit and returned a further 10 trout.

Best fish of the week goes to Mr C Rowland 5lbs Brown & Mr M Kojdic 5lbs Rainbow.
A good number of fish around 3 ½lbs and 4 ½lb fish also have graced the nets yet again this week.
