Foremark fishing report week ending 06/05/2012

201 rods caught 1188 trout, returning 852 fish for a rod average of 5.9
Excellent weeks fishing despite the weather with the rods who disregarded the weather reports finding Foremark fishing at its best, with boat and bank anglers getting amongst the action.

Carvers Arm and Flamingo Bay continue to hold good numbers of fish with the trout keeping close into the banks patrolling the newly flooded areas as the reservoir returns to its full level. Water clarity is excellent.

The best fishing method continue to be fishing deep in the water with DI5 and intermediate lines this continues to take the majority of the fish. During warmer days floating lines and buzzers have also taken a number of fish, as we move into May and the buzzer hatches & our good hawthorn fly hatches come into their own the floating line will become the line of choice.

Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers are continuing to working well along with Damsels, tadpoles and cats whisker.

Verdon’s point, Hut point, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, and along Carvers arm are the best areas for the bank anglers. The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays and along the dam wall.

PSUK International Qualifiers fished on Thursday 20 rods catching 132 fish for a match rod average of 6.6 Mr Chris Howkins finished the winner, Mr Mick Cartlidge was second, and Mr Dave Williams came third.

Best fish of the week goes to Mr M Margett 5lbs4oz Rainbow Mr M Cartlidge 5lbsRainbow and Mr S Owens 5lbs Rainbow. A good number of fish around 3 ½lbs and 4 ½lb fish also have graced the nets again this week.
