Foremark fishing report week ending 29/04/2012

Posted by & filed under Reports.

98 rods caught 652 trout, returning 479 fish for a rod average of 6.6.
Continues heavy rain and strong winds, during the past week has pushed the trout into the shelter of the bays along carvers arm. The trout are now moving near to the shore- line along these areas. The best fishing methods have been to fish deep in the water with DI5 and intermediate lines this continues to take the majority of the fish. During warmer days floating lines and buzzers have also taken a number of fish. Water levels continue to rise we are now at its full level. And the clarity is very clear.
Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers are continuing to working well along with Damsels, tadpoles and cats whisker.

Verdon’s point, Hut point, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, and along Carvers arm are the best areas for the bank anglers. The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays and along the dam wall.

A good number of fish around 3½lbs and 4½lb fish also have graced the nets this week.
Due to very strong winds on Sunday the Foremark Fly Fishers match was cancelled but has been re arranged for July the 8th.
