111 rods caught 820 trout, returning 589 fish for a rod average of 7.3.
Continues heavy rain and hail showers, during the past week has not hindered the fishing. The trout are now moving into all areas of the fishery, but remaining near to the shore line. The best fishing methods have been to fish deep in the water with DI5 and DI7 lines this has taken the majority of the fish. Water levels continue to rise we are now very close to being at full level. And the clarity is very clear.
Booby’s, and deep fished Buzzers are still working well along with Damsels, tadpoles and cats whisker.
Flamingo Bay, Sun Blest and Bramble Bay, and along Carvers arm are the best areas for the bank anglers. The boats are now finding success in most of the Bays and along the dam wall.
A good number of fish around 3½lbs and 4½lb fish also have graced the nets this week.
Best fish this week fell to Mr David Hudson from near Leek with a very nice 8lbs 12oz brown caught from the bank near the wires on a intermediate line and a green and black tadpole.
